303 QUICK POLL: Are Preds’ minds in the right place?

In an article written today by AP writers Greg Beacham (Los Angeles) and Teresa M. Walker (Nashville), the Nashville Predators are “doing their best not to think about last season’s playoff experience…”

You’ll recall (I’m sure) that the Preds had a 3-2 series lead over the Chicago Blackhawks in their sights with less than 1:00 remaining in regulation in Game 5. Instead of shore up the victory and head home to an insane atmosphere inside Bridgestone Arena, Martin Erat turned the puck over, Chicago skated down and scored a shorthanded goal to tie the game with 13.6 seconds left. They then went onto win the game in overtime, putting themselves up 3-2 instead of the other way around.

Painful to think about, yes. But don’t you want to learn from your mistakes? If you just “forget the past” you don’t learn from it. I would think, while they don’t want to dwell on the past, they certainly want to keep it fresh in mind.

But what do you think? Are their minds in the right place? Is it best to not think about it or use it as motivation?
