Preds assign silver medalist Forsberg to Milwaukee

The Nashville Predators have assigned 19-year prospect Filip Forsberg to the Milwaukee Admirals. Forsberg captained Team Sweden to the silver medal at the 2014 World Junior Championships last week.

Nashville, Tenn. (January 10, 2014) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has reassigned forward Filip Forsberg to Milwaukee of the American Hockey League.

Forsberg, 19 (8/13/94), was named Most Valuable Player, Best Forward and a media all-star at the 2014 World Junior Championships (held Dec. 26-Jan. 5), helping the host nation to a silver medal, his third time placing at the tournament (2014: silver, 2013: silver, 2012: gold). The Ostervala, Sweden native has posted five points (1g-4a) in 12 games with Nashville, and eight points (3g-5a) in seven games with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals in 2013-14.

The Nashville Predators will play back-to-back contests this weekend; both of which feature special 6 p.m. CT start times. On Saturday, the Preds take on the Ottawa Senators (102.5 FM The Game) and on Sunday the Minnesota Wild visit Bridgestone Arena (102.5 FM The Game, FOX Sports Tennessee).
