ADMIRALS SIGN THREE TO AHL DEALS

Ads Start Training Camp Monday

Milwaukee, WI—The Milwaukee Admirals announced today that they have signed forward Chris Mueller and defenseman Jon Blum and Matt Moore to American Hockey League contracts.

Mueller tied for fifth in the American Hockey League in goals (32) in 2011-12, becoming the first Milwaukee Admiral since 2006-07 to score 30 goals in a season and just the third player to top that plateau since the Ads joined the AHL in 2001-02. The 5-11, 203-pound right wing also tied for first in the league in overtime goals (3) and tied for second in game-winning goals (8), in addition to pacing the Admirals in points (60). The West Seneca, N.Y., native also participated in his first AHL All-Star Classic in 2012.

Mueller also appeared in four games with the Predators in 2011-12, bringing his career NHL total to 19 games (0g-3a) – all with Nashville over the past two seasons.

Blum played in 33 games with Nashville in 2011-12, recording seven points (3g-4a), and 48 games with the Admirals, notching 26 points (4g-22a). The 6-1, 191-pound blueliner saw his first action with the Predators in 2010-11, playing 23 regular season games before suiting up for all 12 of the team’s 2011 postseason contests, recording two assists and ranking fourth among team defensemen in average ice time (18:51). In 56 career regular season NHL contests, Blum has 15 points (6g-9a).

Over the course of the past three seasons Blum has posted 101 points on 22 goals and 79 assists in 182 games with the Admirals to go along with a +13 rating.

Moore has spent that past four seasons in the San Jose organization, posting 20 points (4g-16a) and 85 penalty minutes in 62 games with its AHL affiliate, the Worchester Sharks, in 2011-12. In 254 career AHL games, the Calgary, Alta., native has 72 points (14g-58a) and 365 penalty minutes since 2008. The former captain of both Worchester (2010-11) and Princeton University during his senior season (2007-08) has also appeared in six NHL games with the Sharks in 2010-11, notching a goal and seven penalty minutes.

Mueller, Blum, Moore and the rest of the Admirals will begin their 2012 training camp on Monday when they hit the ice at 1:00 pm at the Kern Center at MSOE.
