Big Johnson: A little over a week ago, the Blues called up Brent Johnson from the Worcester Ice Cats. Since then, he has made 2 starts and played in 3 games, winning them both. Despite his GAA of over 3 in his AHL experience and a save percentage of under .900, Johnson has been lights out during his brief NHL service. In the first three games of his career, Johnson has a .955 save percentage and a GAA of 1.29. Johnson should make a few more starts while Grant Fuhr recovers from the injury he suffered against The Mighty Ducks on February 6.

MacInnis Nearing 300: With 287 goals on his career, Blues defenseman Al MacInnis is merely 13 goals away from the 300 goal mark. He would become only the third defenseman in NHL history to pass the mark.

Vokoun Hot: Predators’ backup goaltender Tomas Vokoun has played in a few extra games lately due to superlative play. Vokoun, who recorded the first shutout in franchise history on January 15, has actually won both of his last two games while alternating starts with Mike Dunham. Dunham, on the other hand, has lost 3 of his last 4 starts and registered a tie in the other. In the entire month of February, Dunham won just one game – the 2-1 win against the Islanders. And let’s be honest…even my dog could beat the Islanders.

Quest for 50: Ever since being acquired from the Coyotes on Halloween, Cliff Ronning has been on fire. Ronning has 14 goals and 26 assists as a Predator, for a total of 40 points. With his 7 points from the Coyotes, Ronning heads into tonight’s game with 47 points on the season. Greg Johnson may be the only other Predator with a chance to score all 50 points in Predators jersey. He leads the team with 42 points right now, but he’s missed the last three games and will most likely be out tonight, too.

Quest for 20: Sergei Krivokrasov is very close to becoming the first 20-goal scorer in franchise history. Coming into tonight’s game, he has 19 goals after picking up 4 in the last month. In addition, Cliff Ronning has 14 goals as a Predator plus 2 as a Coyote, leaving him only 4 away from a 20-goal season. Greg Johnson is also gunning for the 20-goal mark, with 15 notches on his belt.

Powerplay Lethargic: The Predators powerplay has been absolutely brutal over the past few games, scoring only once in the last 4 games. The power play has been an issue all season…and while it’s to be expected of an expansion team, the Predators will never be able to contend for a playoff spot until they get their powerplay figured out.

Bash Brothers: Patrick Cote and Denny Lambert have combined for 309 penalty minutes this season. Combined, that’s the equivalent of over 5 games spent in the sin bin. Cote has registered over 159 penalty minutes so far this season, while Lambert has 150. Against St. Louis, however, Lambert only has 7 penalty minutes. Cote, on ther other hand, has 25 penalty minutes against the Blues. On January 1, Cote went toe-to-toe with Tony Twist twice. Lambert has not been in a fight since his bout with Detroit’s Darren McCarty on January 14.

Mowers-O-Meter Still Ticking: In 15 games as a Nashville Predator, Mark Mowers has yet to register a goal. According to the Section303.com Mowers-O-Meter, that will be over 48 days by game time.

Quick Notes: Vitali Yachmenev has been skating during practice and could make his return tonight. He hasn’t played since the 2-2 tie in Calgary on February 4…If you are an AOL member, be sure to live chat with us in the hockey chatroom. I have a feeling that Tomas Vokun is going to turn out to be a hell of a goalie. Trade Dunham maybe?

How perfect that we’re so many seasons in, and you could copy/paste that section of the game preview.
