Bridgestone Arena announced…

Word just in from the Predators Front Office:

Nashville, Tenn. (February 22, 2010) – The Nashville Predators and Powers Management have scheduled a news conference for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23 in the Sommet Center’s main lobby (corner of Broadway and Fifth Avenue).

-Update on building naming rights? See update below!
-Update on the possible default that Sports Authority’s been clamoring about? Nope!
-Is Cellblock 303 being expanded to include the entire North Balcony? Nope!
-Has Gnash announced he is entering rehab for catnip addiction? Nope!

UPDATE: Michael Cass of The Tennessean has let the cat out of the bag… Bridgestone Arena announced tomorrow.
Cass noticed a letter that was submitted to the Sports Authority notifying them of the change.

Let the comments below serve as an ‘open thread’ of sorts… what do you think of the new arena name?

What about the domain name? BridgestoneArena.com is still owned by Jon Morrell of Donkey Tickets.

Valid point, I’m sure they’ll work something out with Morrell…

If you think about it, that’s what scalpers do right? Buy something that’s wanted, then sell at a much inflated price. I’ll save that rant for another time though.
