Don't Miss

Four Minutes to Save the World…

Save the World?  not so much.  But the Predators did need 2:38 to save their playoffs hopes.

Goals from Greg Zanon, Radek Bonk (BOONNKK!), and Martin Erat helped push the Predators back into the playoff picture (for now) with a 3-2 win over the always dangerous San Jose Sharks.

Greg Zanon on his goal last night (courtesy of predators.nhl.com):
I got a good screen on my goal, it wasn’t a hard shot, but it was one of those things where you just want to get the puck to the net no matter what.

Now wait a cotton-pickin’ minute.  Get the puck to the net, no matter what.  Where has that mentality been lately, and is that something the rest of the team will adopt heading into this tough finish?  The win does give the battered Preds momentum going into a difficult finish to the season.  For now, No Arnott, No Legwand.  Initially, my thoughts were that this could get messy, but the team, as always, finds ways to rally and get contributions from unlikely players.

Random note:  I spotted Cal O’Reilly outside the Sommet Center taking pictures of the Predators logo.  I apologize for almost stepping into the picture, but I’m glad to see you’re excited about being in Nashville Cal!

Saturday’s game against LA has been moved to a 5 p.m. start, due to Earth Hour.  Rachel over at What the Puck, Preds! has a great post about this event.  Paul McCann will be emceeing the post-game ceremonies, including Jo De Messina performing outside the Sommet Center.

OH!  Saturday, around 2:30-ish, Section303.com will have the inaugural podcast posted. Details about podcast feeds and the like will be up then as well.  So you can listen, on your drive into the game.
