Preds recall Forsberg from Milwaukee, reassign Beck

The Head Coach of the Nashville Predators, Barry Trotz, joined The First Quarter on the flagship station, 102.5 The Game, yesterday and told fans to expect Filip Forsberg back with the big club “by the weekend.”

Forsberg was sent to the Milwaukee Admirals last week in an effort to get him top line minutes.

Nashville, Tenn. (November 14, 2013) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled forward Filip Forsberg from Milwaukee (AHL) and assigned forward Taylor Beck to the Admirals.

Forsberg, 19 (8/13/94), posted six points (1g-5a) during a four-game stint with Milwaukee, reaching the scoresheet in each game. The 6-1, 186-pound winger started the season with Nashville, amassing five points (1g-4a) in 11 games, including an assist in his most recent contest, a 6-4 victory over Colorado on Nov. 6. The Predators have posted an 8-2-1 record with the Ostervala, Sweden native in the lineup in 2013-14.

The Nashville Predators take on the Pittsburgh Penguins tomorrow night at 6 p.m. CT (102.5 FM The Game, FOX SportSouth), the team’s first visit to Pittsburgh since March 2012. This game marks the end of the Preds’ franchise-record 17-day road trip that took them through four time-zones in North America and featured games in Phoenix, Los Angeles, Colorado, Winnipeg, New Jersey and New York (Islanders). On Saturday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. CT, the Preds return home to Bridgestone Arena to face the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks.
