Nashville, Tenn. (June 27, 2012) – The Nashville Predators Foundation and the Peterson Foundation for Parkinson’s are set to host the second annual First Tennessee Nashville Predators/Brent Peterson Celebrity Golf Classic Sept. 17 and 18. The Classic is presented by Franklin American Mortgage and PEAK Performance, in conjunction with fine media partners FOX 17 and 102.5 The Game. Petey’s Preds Party and the Celebrity Golf Classic are highlighted by interaction with Nashville Predator players, as well as several other celebrity attendees from the sports and entertainment world.
The event kicks off on Monday, Sept. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Bridgestone Arena with Petey’s Preds Party. This cocktail reception includes dinner, live entertainment and a world-class auction featuring one-of-a-kind experiences and premier autographed memorabilia from around the sports and entertainment industry. Individual tickets for this special event are just $75 for season ticketholders and $100 for all other guests. Attendees of the dinner are not required to attend the next day’s golf outing.
The Celebrity Golf Classic takes place the following day on the South Course at Vanderbilt Legends Club and features morning and afternoon flights with an awards ceremony to follow. All foursomes are paired with a celebrity golfer. Foursomes for the golf event start at $2,500 and individuals may sign up for $650. Golf registration includes a ticket to Petey’s Preds Party. Golfers should be aware that afternoon flights are designed to be more competitive than morning flights.
From Day One of the franchise through the end of the 2010-11 season, Brent Peterson provided a stable presence behind the Nashville Predators bench. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s a decade ago, the veteran of 620 NHL games played and more than 1000 NHL games coached stepped down from his Associate Coaching position last summer due to advancement of the disease. Recently, Peterson brought his battle with Parkinson’s into the public eye – including in-depth coverage of his Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery (DBS) – in an effort to create awareness and cultivate donations to the Peterson Foundation for Parkinson’s. Donations to PFP fund critical research to aid in the fight against the disease.
“Last season’s inaugural event was tremendous,” Peterson said. “Between the two days of events, we raised more than $200,000 to be split between Parkinson’s research and the Predators Foundation – which supports youth programs across the state. We had a wonderful time last year, but we expect this year’s event to be even better with exciting new guests, fun prizes and unique silent auction items.”
