#15 :: PEKKA RINNE’S “STICK SAVE” IN EDMONTON
It’s no secret that the Edmonton Oilers had the Predators’ number all season long. Matter of fact, Nashville only beat them twice this year and, considering Edmonton was the worst team in the league, that’s saying something. So here there we were in the first game of the season between the two clubs. Nashville is a team trying to get into the playoffs for the second straight year and the Oilers are… well… destined to pick #1 in the NHL Draft for the second staight year. The teams go to overtime and Rinne’s stick, which is stuck in the twine of the net, makes what literally became a game-saving stop in the 3-2 Nashville shootout win.
