#14 :: FIVE FOOT NOTHING RYAN ELLIS SENDS 6’2″ WAYNE SIMMONDS FLYING
He had been in the league for less than a month, had already tallied his first point, scored his first goal and was even a plus-player. But on January 14, in front of 17,113 at Bridgestone Arena, Ryan Ellis announced his presence to the NHL.
The pint sized blueliner who is listed at 5’9″ found himself one-on-one with the 6’2″ Wayne Simmonds. The two-time Memorial Cup Champion would not only make the correct play but he would also make the highlight reel.
The Preds would go onto win 4-2.
