Nov 26 Recap: Nashville 3 – Carolina 4 (OT)
- Updated: November 26, 2017
Ohhhh….The fat lady may not have sung…but at least she whistled. The Preds came from behind twice to tie the score, and–despite many furious flurries late in the game and in the O.T., they end up falling in the shoot-out 4-3 to the Stains along Tobacco Road yesterday afternoon. In so doing, they come away with an important road tally and finish the brief excursion 1-0-1, good for 3 our of 4 possible points.
It was a very even contest in nearly every statistical category, with the young Blowhards looking like mirror images of the Men in Gold via their personnel and style. Juuse Saros was solid between the pipes, making many key stops throughout to keep things close. Of the three that he gave up during regulation, one was off a breakaway, another on a questionable high stick, and the final on a deflected shot.
For the Smashcats, Arvy got things started with a highlight reel goal (his 9th) where he took a long feed from Matty Ek, undressed a D-Man by passing it between his own legs, and then roofed a flip shot. For the second score, the Eks-Factor continued his torrid play with a long boomer through traffic by Sissons on the power play. His 6th marker—and league leading 4th on the man advantage for blue liners. Crazy Legs then banged home his 8th on a smart feed by Fiala through a sea of players in front.
The M.C. Sabre Cats are now 9-1-1 in their last 11, good for 19 out of a possible 22 points. They are now tied for 2nd place with the Winter Pigs, and just 4 behind the Blosers. It is back home to a kinetic Quarrytorium to take on those hated Blackholes tomorrow night in their first visit of the season to Smashville. Should be a crankin’ affair. Let’s Go Preds!
