Patric Hornqvist activated, should play today…
- Updated: February 18, 2013
Per Dirk Hoag of On the Forecheck, Nashville Predators winger Patric Hornqvist has been activated from the injured reserve list and should return to the lineup today.
Having scored just 30 goals this season, the Predators have the worst offense in the league (the Los Angeles Kings have also scored 30 but they’ve played two less games). Hornqvist’s skill set will be welcomed back with open arms. He led the team in goals in both the 2009-10 and 2011-12 seasons and is no stranger to shooting the puck, another category the Predators are dead last in (22.7 shots-per-game).
The Sollentuna, Sweden, native was nearly a point-per-game player for Nashville (four points in five games) before getting injured in Anaheim when Ryan Getzlaf fell on his left leg. He’s missed 10 games with the injury.
The Predators are hosted by the Colorado Avalanche today in a special 2:00pm Central matinee start time.
