Friday Predators Roster (players in italics played Thursday): Jonas Andersson, Jonathon Blum, Francis Bouillon, Mark Dekanich, Martin Erat, Ryan Flynn, Matt Halischuk, Aaron Johnson, Kevin Klein, Teemu Laakso, David Legwand, Anders Lindback, Jamie Lundmark, Cal O’Reilly, Nick Spaling, Ryan Suter, Andreas Thuresson, Jordin Tootoo, Joel Ward, Colin Wilson
Friday Hurricanes Roster: TBA
Missing in Action: The following players are currently on the Predators’ training camp roster but have not been on the roster for either game: Wade Belak, Scott Ford, Roman Josi (injured), Linus Klasen (injured), Scott Lehman, Grant Lewis, Matthew Lombardi, Brett Palin, Chet Pickard, Mark Santorelli, Jeremy Smith, Ryan Thang, Mark Van Guilder
It Still Doesn’t Count: The Predators are still carrying 28 extra players on the roster. At this point, they are only 3 players short of a full NFL squad. The games still count for beans. It’s nice to win a preseason game, but it’s just a dress rehearsal. Some players will never, ever see time in a Predators jersey outside of these games. Don’t tie anything to them.
Debuts: Tonight will be the Predators’ debut of several offseason acquisitions. Matt Halischuk, who was acquired in the Arnott trade. Aaron Johnson and Jamie Lundmark were acquired late in the offseason as a free agents. Matthew Lombardi has yet to make his debut in a Predators uniform.
Dex and the Giant: In goal tonight will be Mark Dekanich and the 6’6″ Anders Lindback. While Dekanich appears to be the leading contender for the backup job and performed admirably, Lindback performed inconsistently at rookie camp. It should be interesting to see how Lindback performs against gameday competition.
