Per John Manasso, Hornqvist: “I’m ready to go.”
- Updated: March 25, 2013
Fox Sports South’s John Manasso talked to Nashville Predators winger Patric Hornqvist after morning skate and the injured Swede told him “I’m ready to go.”
And per Ryan Porth of Smashville 24/7, Head Coach Barry Trotz said there’s a good chance Hornqvist will return to the lineup tonight.
Nashville has found it’s offense as of late but could still use the Stockholm, Sweden, native’s services. After averaging 2.0 goals-per-game through much of the year (worst in the National Hockey League), the Predators have found the back of net 33 times in their past nine, a 3.7 goals/game average.
Hornqvist can only help those numbers. He led Nashville in goals in 2009-10 (30) and 2011-12 (27). He’s no stranger to shooting the puck either. Despite missing 18 games this season, he’s still fifth on the team in shots (54).
Still no word who will come out of the lineup to make room for Hornqvist but one has to hope it’s not rookie Taylor Beck who has looked good in his three NHL games, even recording a goal and an assist on Saturday night.
The 2005 7th round pick has been out with an upper-body injury since March 9.
